Wet and Dry Concrete Polishing in Charlotte

The process of concrete polishing implements a series of increasingly fine grinding tools to smooth and buff the floor to a hard, glossy surface. It’s completed in multiple stages, and may be completed “dry” (which uses water between stages but not during the polishing itself) for a high-gloss shine, or “wet” (which uses water throughout to create a dust-free environment) for a low-luster shine. Read more about the differences between dry and wet polishing.

Both wet and dry concrete polishing methods compress the concrete molecules to increase the floor’s density and durability.

Below is a time-lapse video of our crews polishing the concrete floor using the dry method. Note how the appearance of the floor changes after each step:

Concrete Stains and Dye

Polished concrete looks beautiful in its natural grey color, but that’s not the only shade available. You’ll find a wide variety of dyes and stains available, from neutrals to rich jewel tones. An experienced contractor can also use staining techniques to create wave patterns, marbling effects, and more. Learn more about concrete staining options.

Why Charlotte Businesses Can Rely on CPC Floor Coatings

CPC Floor Coatings, located in Greenville County, SC, has been in the flooring industry for nearly four decades. We know the Carolinas, and we’ve worked with industrial, commercial, and community facilities of all sizes.

Here’s what sets us apart from our competitors:

Accurate estimates

Our long history in the industry means that we know how to predict the resources a polishing job will take.  When we visit your facility for a consultation, we can identify any special challenges that your facility may pose, and can accurately quote the cost and the number of man-hours your polishing job will require.

A passion for quality

We always strive to get the job done the right way the first time. If something doesn’t go according to plan, we’ll make it right. We don’t cut corners and we don’t rush our processes. (And since we quote our time budget accurately, we don’t have to!)

“Safety before Sales” mentality

Polished concrete is safe for most industry and commercial applications. (For example, despite its glossy appearance, it’s rarely slippery, even when wet.) However, there are a few environments that it’s not well suited for. If we don’t believe concrete polishing is right for your situation, we’ll recommend a safer option, such as a slip-resistant coating, even if it’s a less expensive service. We are more concerned about your safety than our making a profit, and we’ll always straightforward about what’s best for your interests.

If you’re in the Charlotte area and looking for a concrete polishing contractor that can get the job done correctly and treat you with the respect you deserve, give CPC Floor Coatings a call. You can reach us at (864) 855-0600 or contact us online for your free consultation.
